Week 4(left as draft by mistake and forgot to publish)


Week 4 was probably the hardest week in the development. 

First i tried implementing the shooting mechanic with the current movement mechanics and while I got the bullet drawing. it was moving but just not the way i wanted it would move diagonally instead. it was really frustrating to me because i could not get it working. 

so i decided to completely to rework the game based on a prototype that i had been working on just after the pitch of our game. originally I thought it would be easier to use the new techniques that we learned in our classes so i kept this as an earlier prototype. the prototype itself only had the movement and simply shooting mechanics that can probably be optimised that is why i put on the back burner and would only be used to just in case I could't do it with the new techniques that I learned.  

so I got that working and i also tried to implement a scrolling background. while i got it working it wasn't the scrolling background that I thought it would be. the scrolling background tutorial that i followed made it so the background scrolls automatically. however I want it so when the player reaches the end of the screen it moves. I still am not to sure about putting the scrolling background in yet as the deadline approaches. I would rather get the core game play mechanics done before I add the bells and whistles so to speak.
